Simone Kessler lives and works as a conceptual artist and curator in Hamburg. She arranges her artworks in series, combining absurdity and humor with poetic perspective. With her process-oriented and explorative approach, she takes up philosophical questions of ecology, the human psyche and scientific phenomena, as in her latest series CLAYS STUDIES and IRDIC ANGELEGENHEITEN.
Simone Kessler studied sculpture and photography at the AdBK Munich and her work is currently supported by a grant from the Stiftung Kunstfonds. In order to address social issues and to formulate new narratives for others, the artist is in constant exchange with colleagues, institutions spectators. Simone Kessler has been working as an artist for 17 years and from the beginning. Throughout her career she has consistently built her reputation as an artist; with over 90 group and solo exhibitions in over 10 cities and a total of 8 countries. Simone continues to work on interdisciplinary and international projects. She has received numerous grants and artist-in-residencies, including Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg and Vipolže (Slovenia).
